Tryout Overview
WSC holds annual tryouts for our youth competitive teams, catering to various age groups from U8 to U18. These sessions are designed to assess players’ skills, attitude, and potential to contribute to the team’s success. Our licensed coaches and technical staff conduct the tryouts, ensuring a fair and comprehensive evaluation process.
Registration
Registration is now OPEN – all participants must register online before attending tryouts. A non‑refundable tryout fee ($40) will apply, covering facility rental and equipment costs.

Welland Soccer Club has been advised that the South Integrated Soccer League will not include a U13 division for the 2026–2027 season.
Both the 2014 Boys and Girls teams will be coached by Matthew Vadacchino and Noah DiMaurizio, with Sean Neamtu providing continuity from the previous coaching staff as the teams build toward SISL competition in 2027–2028.
The 2014 Girls are coming off an outstanding 2026 season, winning five tournaments, including the NSL Playoffs. The 2014 Boys were also crowned NSL Playoff Champions.

What to Bring
Participants are expected to arrive prepared with the following:
- Soccer cleats (regular soccer cleats for indoor and outdoor fields)
- Shin guards
- Appropriate soccer attire
- Water bottle
- A positive and ready-to-learn attitude!
Selection Process
Selection for WSC competitive teams is based on skill, athleticism, teamwork, and long-term development potential. Following tryouts, players selected for a team will be contacted via email with details on how to proceed. Players not selected for the top-tier team may still be invited to additional tryouts for a second or third team within their age group. Those not placed on a competitive team (Target or Development) are encouraged to continue their soccer journey through our House League and development programs—such as the Wizards Academy—and consider attending tryouts again in the future.
Important Information
- Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to check in and warm up.
- Parents/Guardians are welcome to stay and watch but must remain outside the field of play.
